Juan Miguel Valderrama

I am a first-year PhD student studying how modeling and simulation can support the development of robust tritium accountancy methods for future fusion energy systems. I am advised by Ben Lindley and Paul Wilson and am a joint member of ReTI and CNERG. I earned my BS in nuclear engineering from the University of Florida in 2025, during which I completed internships at Constellation, General Atomics, and Argonne National Laboratory. I also served as Chair of the 2026 Fusion Student Delegation. In my free time I enjoy coffee, playing pick-up soccer and volleyball, and going on walks around Madison.
